I purchased this book to use for my high school sports medicine class to help students review anatomy. It may be more useful for the middle school level (life science). It is WAY too simplistic for any collegiate level anatomy course.
I have been learning about Anatomy since I injured my shoulder - this is solely for self interest and not because I am studying meds or physio related fields. As such, this book does its job for me. However, this is an extremely fundamental book and more like for children than for adults.
So I love this book only because I can follow along with my anatomy book and really understand the material visually. However the book doesn't have a color code system as it suggests in the description and some of the images a anatomically incorrect and slightly confusing to figure out. Particularly the diagrams of the ear. Its still fun to color in reguardless.
This book is a great coloring book for any age. It is for the nurse, Doctor, or anyone interested in Human Anatomy! I sent it to my 6 year old grandson, as he is obsessed with Human Anatomy. He has learned all of the body organs, systems and how they function and what they do. A great gift!
This has been an excellent book for my daughters homeschool curriculum. It is well written with good information but not overwhelming for a student who struggles with a lot of reading of medical information. The drawings are excellent and easily colored to help retain the information. I made up my own quizzes to go with the coloring book that enhanced the learning experience.drawing lines are very clear which is not something I noticed in other anatomy coloring books.
Not exactly what I was expecting. It seems like it's made more for children. I'm a nursing student so I was hoping for something more in depth that tied in coloring to what you're reading but all you're doing is coloring body parts and reading about them. I wish there were photos of the inside to see it before buying.
I bought this coloring book to do with my daughter last year after she had mentioned how cool she had thought a book I had purchased her on the human body with a 3D plastic body that pulled apart in levels to exposed different systems as the pages was turned was super cool. Only to find out when this arrived and I presented it to her as something we could do together that she finds it far cooler to look at anatomy pictures, and not color them. So, it ended up being a parental misfire, but I did manage to rope her into coloring some of it with me, and did some other parts by myself as a way to calm my mind on certain occasions.So my first word of caution would be to pay attention to the age range under the additional product description, which is given as 8-12. I think that's an accurate range, but it would need to be a highly motivated 8 year old working above grade level (at least in the US) on the younger end of that age range. So if you are looking for something to help as a way of helping you remember a high school or college level anatomy, this isn't your book.My main criticism of this book can be shown in the picture I put up. The coloring book is done in two page sections when lying open, with the left page giving text and explanations for the drawings to be colored on the right page. There are cases where items discussed in the text are not labeled on the drawing, and depending on what it is, that could make it harder for your kiddo to figure out what it is they are talking about. In the picture I put up, the text talks about the trochlea, which I've darkened in purple ink on this. It's unlabeled, and I think that the way the black and white illustration is done would make it difficult for your kiddo to differentiate what is what and isolate this. I have drawn in the arrow and written in the name. So your kiddo may need to search additional references on-line to determine what is what in those cases.Otherwise, I think this is a very solidly done anatomy coloring book in the 3rd to 6th grade age range.
Great coloring book but doesn't have enough info. I got this to help me with my anatomy class and it doesn't have some of the stuff I need help with. Overall gpod though.
