Epstein, developer of Network Chiropractic, explains how the basic life force functions through twelve stages of healing. From my perspective, the first six stages involve the conscious person understanding the problem and wanting to heal. The latter six impact unconscious levels of the total person, reaching beyond the physical to the spiritual, where true healing occurs. Having experienced Network Chiropractic with two practitioners at different times over a twenty year period, I know this treatment works.
Just like in his first book, Healing Myths, Dr Epstein has shared his unique and completely different approach to illness and the road to wellness. He treats the body-mind as a unit, not two separate entities "connected" together. When one begins to see the body as a mirror/reflection of what has happened at the level of mind/spirit, it makes more sense in understanding the path to wellness. Dr Epstein takes us on this journey fearlessly and with tremendous intuition.
For anyone looking to really grasp concepts of health and healing, this book is for you. Having a broader understanding of where people fall into their healing journey is very beneficial for any health practitioners as well as the general public. As a chiropractor, Donny's writings have really opened my eyes to how beautiful the innate intelligence of the bodymind really is. This book has also helped me as well as many others on our own healing journeys to wholeness.
Dr. Donald Epstein has written a powerful guide to the different stages we naturally progress through to release the restrictions in our bodies, hearts, and minds that create suffering in our lives. Understanding all of these stages helps us recognize where we are and consciously move through the appropriate stages, rather than our common tendency to try to rush ahead or avoid the whole process altogether. I highly recommend this for healing professionals and everyone on a path of conscious growth.
No book on healing has all the answers as to why someone is more susceptible than another toward certain illness, but it gives a balanced view between medical/chiropractic views such as injury or infection to new age beliefs that we are solely responsible for the entirety of what happens in our human experience. Not too rigidly medical, and not too 'pie in the sky' philosophical.

In conjunction with working with a Spinal Analysis professional, I have found this book to be very helpful and interesting. I found it necessary to re read chapters over and over to gain a better understanding of the healing process.
